PERMISSION TO PLAY WORKSHOPS

Delivered as a ticketed event with a maximum of 10 people per workshop.

This is a one day workshop that explores the importance of play within an artists creative practice.
Exploring topics of idea generation, prototyping, experimentation, diversification & collaboration.

This would be perfect for creatives, designers, crafter & makers.
From hobbyists & freelancers through to creatives small business owners who do markets.

By the end of the workshop participants will walk away with new skills for idea generation, a bunch of new ideas for future artworks and products & systems for breaking creative blocks.

 
 

WORKSHOP BREAKDOWN

Welcomes - 15min
Introductions & housekeeping

Artist Talk 1-5hrs
I share how I approach experimentation & play in my practice, how I incorporate these ideas into product design, artworks and large scale client projects.
Q&A included

Break - 45min

Creative Workshop - 3hr
Participants will create wearable art pieces, split pin figures &/or small sculpture prototypes using cardboard and simple construction techniques. The sessions is focused on 2D & 3D experimentation. Resulting in participants walking away with a potential bank of practice solutions for future artworks.

Wrap Up - 30min

PROGRAMMING OPTIONS:
This workshop could be deliver as part of the councils Creative Industries & Small Business outcomes. With the option to deliver multiple Workshops through the year to allow for great engagement.

It would be a great opportunity for council to connect with local artists as a way of fostering potential future
EOI applicants for council project.

We could include the workshop as part of community programming for events. For example, a queer creative focus during Pride Month or a young emerging artists focus during Youth Week.
